German Philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche once said that “One must be a sea, to receive a polluted stream without becoming impure.” This is perfectly executed by Filipino advertising agency TBWA\Santiago Mangada Puno.
To spread the awareness about the extent to which our water bodies have got contaminated and the level at which water pollution has reached, they used the contamination to create art out of it.The project was named “Dirty watercolor” for ABS-CBN Kapamilya Lingkod foundation .This involved collecting the dirty pigments and sludge from Manila’s most polluted rivers and tributaries. These pigments were decontaminated before using.
Although it was a new and one of a a kind of experience for the artist involved, but still the major challenge was working with the smell of the dirty pigments although these pigments and the sludge were decontaminated before use. At last their hard-work paid, resulting into quite amazing and beautiful piece of art.
These painting’s are expected to be sold for $851 to $2600 with the collected money to be handed over to the charity that cleans the polluted rivers.
